Yesterday the Prime Minister made a statement in the House of Commons about the Government’s security response to the threat of ISIL (the Islamic State in the Syria and the Levant). Responding to the Prime Minister, Nadhim Zahawi MP - who recently visited the region - pointed to reports that ISIL have been issuing their own passports and visas to foreign fighters. Nadhim recommended that any British fighter who pledges their allegiance to ISIL and receives a new passport should have their British passport withdrawn immediately. The Prime Minister congratulated Nadhim on his work in strengthening UK-Kurdish relations and said he had listened very carefully to this proposal.
