This morning the unemployment figures for March 2015 were announced, the last figures that will be released before the General Election on May 7th. In Stratford on Avon, there were 960 people seeking work at the time of the election, and 220 18-24 year olds unemployed. In March 2015 there were 242 people looking for work in this constituency, a 75% drop from May 2010. Of those 242 only 45 of them were young people an 80% drop from May 2010. This is excellent news and it is even more impressive in the context that 570 people were unemployed in Stratford on Avon even before the financial crash in 2008, 328 people more than today. I’m sure you will agree with me that this is great news but there's still more to do. The next Conservative Government is aiming to achieve full employment, with the highest employment rate of any major economy. That's why it's vital that we have a chance to finish the job.
